Target Selling Pandora Gift Cards

Pre-paid gift cards are a first for the personalized music service

Pandora founder Tim Westergren often says he wants to see the personalized music service on every connected device, computer, in every car and in every home.

Hoping to get closer to that goal, the first Pandora gift cards are being offered for the holidays.

Pandora partnered with InComm, a prepaid product and transaction services company, on Pandora One Gift Cards. They are being sold at Target stores and at Target.com retail for $36, redeemable for a one-year subscription to Pandora.

Pandora says these subscribers get higher quality audio, with a 192 kilobits-per-second audio rate, than do free subscribers.

The cards mark the first time the Pandora One subscription is available via retail. Westergren says Target is an “ideal” partner for the first major retail launch because of its national reach.

The company says some 400 connected consumer devices that stream its music service are on the market.
