Tascam Reveals NAB Plans

Tascam will show several products in Las Vegas at the NAB show. New products include the US-2400 Fader Controller and the IF-FW/DM FireWire Expansion card.
Freeing DAW-based studio users from having to mix with a mouse control, the Fader Controller provides a 25-fader DAW controller for around $2,000. The 25-touch-sensitve 100 mm moving faders provide mix control without patching together multiple expanders. Each of the 24 channels has an assignable encode with an LED ring that shows the current value or doubles as a signal meter.
The Tascam IF-FW/DM FireWire expansion card being unveiled adds 24 inputs and 24 outputs from a computer DAW to the Tascam DM-24 Digital Mixer. For around $3,500 a studio can add the DM-24 and IF-FW/DM to its DAW system to achieve mixing, automation and processing capabilities to a computer recording system through one FireWire connection.
Tascam will also show Kamesan locations mixers at its booth; Tascam is the U.S. distributor of Kamesan products.
