With its recent acquisition of Recoton’s accessories business and brand names, Thomson said it is expanding its Consumer Solutions division with plans to offer more electronics accessories to consumers and logistics services to retailers.
Thomson purchased the bankrupt Recoton’s assets through a court auction, including a $60 million bid on the company’s distribution setup and associated brands. Thomson’s offerings now cover the RCA and Thomson brands, plus products under the names Acoustic Research, Advent, Jensen, Discwasher, Ambico and Spikemaster. The product lines stretch from surge protectors to headphones to travel bags to product enhancements for other consumer electronics devices.
The acquisition of Recoton’s distribution system will also help Thomson offer more services to retailers, such as delivery, restocking and product displays, it said.
