Clear Channel engineers are hoping someone will help them find out who stole $20,000 worth of broadcast equipment from an employee’s car. They have circulated a notice asking anyone who might hear of such equipment available for sale or trade to contact them.
The theft took place last Friday evening (Nov. 25) or early that Saturday, in Prattville, Ala. The employee had been transporting the gear.
Stolen were a Crown FM1000A FM transmitter consisting of three rack-mount units; a Moseley PCL 505 STL transmitter and receiver; and a TFT 4200 STL transmitter and receiver.
Gerald Wilson, director of engineering and IT services for Clear Channel Radio of Pensacola, told RW Online the Crown transmitter is two years old, and the other gear is more than 10 years old. He has serial numbers and can provide them on request. He’s at (850) 473-0400.
