Univision Names SVP/GM for Radio

Alejandro Nieto Molina will fill newly-created position

Univision Communications Inc. has tapped Alejandro Nieto Molina as senior vice president and general manager for its radio division.

For this newly-created position, he will be based in Miami and will report to Chief Local Media Officer and Executive Vice President of Technology, Operations and Engineering John W. Eck.

Nieto Molina is now responsible for leading the strategy and implementation of content efforts across Univision Radio, ultimately overseeing the 67 radio stations in UCI’s Local Media portfolio.

A native of Colombia, he began his radio career as a host and DJ, and he went on to pioneer several music programming formats there. In 2005, Nieto Molina transferred to Miami, where he served as VP of programming for Prisa Radio. In 2011, he was hired as CEO by Spanish radio network Cadena SER.

“Alejandro has extensive radio industry experience and has a proven track record in content creation and programming as well as management and operations,” said Eck. “His passion for radio and deep knowledge of diverse music genres make him the ideal candidate to lead our radio stations.”
