Vertical Bridge Names Bizick as CEO

He succeeds co-founder Alex Gellman, who becomes executive chairman

Vertical Bridge has a new CEO. He is Ronald G. Bizick II, who has been the company’s president and chief operating officer since March of last year.

The company said current CEO and Co-Founder Alex Gellman will become executive chairman “and remain active in steering the strategy and investments of the company.”

VB describes itself as the largest private owner and operator of communications infrastructure in the United States. It has more than half a million sites including 11,000 owned and master-leased towers as well as “the nation’s largest and tallest collection of broadcast tower sites.” It was founded in 2014.

Bizick co-founded and was CEO of Tarpon Towers LLC. He is also the former executive vice president and chief operating officer of Global Signal Inc. and of SBA Communications. Gellman cited Bizick’s “deep experience building and scaling tower companies.”

Marc Ganzi becomes the vice chairman of Vertical Bridge. Ganzi is CEO of Digital Bridge Group Inc., the digital infrastructure real estate investment trust that holds the controlling stake in VB. He called the changes at Vertical Bridge “a natural, planned evolution of the process that began when Ron joined the company.”
