Voice of America’s Zimbabwe service has added a new platform, satellite. Now airing on the Intelsat 10 satellite, the signal’s footprint covers southern Africa. The new audio-only channel will be free to listeners on satellite.
The new channel airs 24 hours a day and is aimed at what VOA has determined to be a growing market in home satellite recipients in the region. Programming includes the “Studio 7” news program and the “Live Talk” call-in program along with other English, Shona and Ndebele language programs.
Also expected to air will be select VOA French and Portuguese language programs.
