Scheduled for June 22 at the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Summer Conference is a special Engineering Day.
A familiar event at the Summer Conference each year for radio and TV engineers, the day offers sessions, roundtables for discussions and Q&As along with a lunch.
The sessions are: “Risk Management in a Broadcast Empire,” with Mike Epstein Sr., E.W. Scripps Co.; “Tower Site Security and FAA Lighting Changes,” from Richard Wood, Resonant Results; “Information Security: What Are the Hackers up to Now?” by David Kieper, University of Wisconsin, Green Bay; and “The Growing Impact of Ambient Noise on Broadcasting” with Steve Johnson, Wisconsin Public Radio.
A roundtable will examine an actual AMBER Alert while another will offer breakout sessions for topics such as FM translator buildouts.
There will also be a “Young Professionals Brewery Tour” and an official evening dinner.
In addition, the Summer Conference will also host a regional SBE meeting, a golf tournament and the WBA Media Technology Institute.
The whole shebang runs from June 20–22, at the Radisson Hotel and Convention Center in Madison, Wis.
