Meanwhile, Neil Glassman has left Broadcast Electronics; he had been its VP strategic marketing.
BE said he left to pursue other interests. No direct replacement is planned.
The radio transmitter and digital audio products manufacturer has seen some changes in upper management in recent months. As we reported then, John Pedlow retired as president/CEO and was replaced in October by Joseph W. Roark. Separately, Michael Burgett recently resigned as VP of global sales. The company also instituted some staff cuts this summer.
Asked if Deb Huttenburg (see previous story) replaces Glassman, a spokeswoman said no. “Deb’s main focus will be on global business development, with marketing being one of her job functions. Neil was in charge of marketing. Deb’s job-one is to develop new international business for BE. In many ways, her job duties are an amalgamation of what Michael Burgett did and to a lesser extent, the role Neil fulfilled.”
Glassman has been working with BE since 2004. He called his time at BE “a great three years” and told friends he will be “‘hanging out my shingle’ to provide marketing and strategic planning services to radio technology companies.”
Prior to BE, Glassman was managing and creative director at Cowan Communications, where he held a senior sales and marketing position with Telos Systems; other clients included Comrex, Sennheiser, BSW and 25-Seven. He was president of Digigram Inc. and marketing/sales manager for Bradley Broadcast; he also worked in sales for Radio Systems.
Since early 2006 BE has been owned by the Audax Group in Boston, a private equity firm that also owns the Boston Herald, among other holdings.
