Wildmon and Criswell Selected for NRB Hall of Fame

Induction to be at Proclaim17 NRB Convention in Orlando

Donald Wildmon

Rev. Dr. Donald E. Wildmon and Dr. W. A. Criswell will enter the National Religious Broadcasters Hall of Fame this spring.

As the founder and chairman emeritus of American Family Association and American Family Radio, Wildmon will receive the NRB’s Hall of Fame Award on March 2, at Proclaim17, the NRB International Christian Media Convention in Orlando, Fla.

The award, which the NRB describes as its most prestigious, recognizes an individual’s “for invaluable contribution to the field of Christian communications, exhibition of the highest standards and evidence of faithfulness in Christ.” It is one of 21 awards that will be presented during the convention.

AFA is an organization with more than two million online supporters and approximately 170,000 subscribers to its monthly AFA Journal. Wildmon has led campaigns to “protect the family from obscenity and indecency,” leading some companies to change advertising policies. He has appeared on national television shows and has been featured in national newspapers and magazines.

“I’m deeply humbled by this recognition and grateful to the culture warriors who fight on,” said Wildmon.

Additionally, Dr. W. A. Criswell, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Dallas, will be posthumously honored with induction into the NRB Hall of Fame.
