Wisconsin Broadcasters Association 2025 HOF Class Announced

Inductee Bill Hubbard has served as a broadcast engineer for more than four decades

The Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Foundation has announced its 2025 WBA Hall of Fame inductees.

Among the four new members is Bill Hubbard. Hubbard has been a member of the Society of Broadcast Engineers for more than 40 years in its central and northeast Wisconsin Chapter 80. He has held multiple SBE leadership positions.

In 2019, Hubbard was named SBE’s James C. Wulliman Educator of the Year

He assumed the WBA’s Duke Wright Media Technology Institute’s leadership role in 2023. The institute is a three-day series of seminars to educate attendees about broadcast engineering and technology, held in conjunction with the WBA summer conference.

Hubbard is a graduate of University Wisconsin-Platteville. He began his career at an engineer at WLUK(TV) in Green Bay before roles at the UW-Green Bay Center for TV production, Wisconsin Public Television and WBAY(TV).

He also serves as the NFL Frequency Coordinator for Lambeau Field, part of the broadcast operations for Green Bay Packers games. 

The three other WBA 2025 Hall of Fame inductees are:

  • Paul Braun, play-by-play announcer for University of Wisconsin hockey.
  • Denise Callaway, one of the first Black female reporters at WTMJ(TV) Milwaukee and currently serving on the board for WYMS(FM) and WUWM(FM) in Milwaukee.
  • Mark Zoromski, for his newsroom work at WITI(TV) in Milwaukee and as an educator at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Marquette University.

Inductees for the WBA Hall of Fame are chosen each year by WBA members, family members and friends. Since 1989, the association said that 160 broadcasters have been inducted. 

This year’s class will be honored at the WBA’s summer conference, June 19 at the La Crosse, Wis., Radisson hotel

Visitors to the Hilton Milwaukee City Center can see the WBA Hall of Fame display. A virtual display of past inductees can also be found at the Wisconsin Museum of Broadcasting website
