The Original Company Inc. is acquiring an FM/AM/translator package from Withers Broadcasting Co. of Illinois, according to the seller’s broker Patrick Communications.
This package is headlined by 50 kW country station WRUL(FM) at 97.3 MHz in Carmi, Ill. It also includes sister station WROY(AM) airing oldies and news at 1460 kHz, with 1 kW day, 85 watts night; and an FM translator in Fairfield, Ill.
Mark Lange is president of the buyer, which has 11 FMs, four AMs and four translators in the region, according to BIA/Kelsey data shared by Patrick Communications. Dana Withers leads the seller. The sale prices is $390,000 cash at closing; the deal is pending regulatory approval.
WRUL’s Facebook page calls the station “The Tri-State Boomer.” The borders of Kentucky and Indiana are nearby.
