New York radio station WOR(AM) turned 85 Thursday.
“Two years ago, we moved and rebuilt the studios,” noted engineering head Tom Ray, an RW contributor. “Then, we put a new transmitter site on the air. So like any octogenarian, it’s had a quadruple bypass and hip replacement.”
The March 1 issue of Radio World, now reaching readers, includes a story about the recent destruction of the former WOR tower array in New Jersey.
