WRN Launches Absolute. on Freesat

Freesat is a digital platform from the BBC and ITV which provides a high definition digital TV and radio complete with interactivity, all from one subscription, contract-free box.

WRN has launched Absolute. (formerly known as Virgin Radio) on the Freesat platform.

Absolute. can be tuned in via channel 724 on Freesat. WRN has also launched the sister stations Absolute Classic Rock and Absolute Xtreme on channels 725 and 726, respectively.

Freesat makes HDTV available to 98 percent of U.K. households, some of whom have not been able to access HDTV because of coverage, price or subscription contracts. To access the new digital channels, customers simply purchase a receiver from a licensed distributor. Freesat provides its own EPG service, “red button” functionality and inter-viewer interactivity through a standard broadband connection and set top boxes are able to record all programs.
