WXPN hopes to reach a $4 million facility fundraising goal by mid-summer.
The public station at the University of Pennsylvania said it raised $1 million from listeners in a recent on-air appeal, and earlier raised $2.5 million in major gifts, leaving it with about $500,000 to go.
This fall the station plans to move into a 40,000 square foot building on Walnut Street being developed and restored by Dranoff Properties. It includes new studios and a separate music performance space called World Cafe Live.
