Xarxa Media Group Equips Studios With AEQ

COM-Radio in Barcelona gets new audio mixers

COM-Radio, a regional public broadcaster and division of Xarxa Media Group, has remodeled its Barcelona facility and upgraded audio production.

The studio now features the AEQ Forum, a broadcast mixer with on-air control. It incorporates a

utomatic monitor mute, remote mute, fader start, signaling, control signals for external equipment automation, management of external communications using built-in digital telephone hybrid modules and an intercom.

With a modular design and small footprint, the mixer features a control surface with a minimum of four faders, and can be extended to up to 20 independent audio channels, says the firm.

The AEQ Forum mixers are housed in two medium-size radio studios. With their fanless operation, the Grand Forum units are intended for self-controlled studio operation.

AEQ has also installed a digital AEQ Arena audio mixer with 25 faders, as well as increased the size of the central router in the main control room over AEQ BC-2000D technology. This router can now connect all the new installed mixers using dedicated digital audio multichannel MADI links over optical fiber interfaces.
