From the Radio World “Who’s Buying What” page: Pillar Media announced that it has launched a set of TV apps through mobile-app developer All in Media (AIM) for its four radio stations.
Pillar, a Christian media company, owns four stations, three of which uses its “Star” Christian AC brand: 99.1 WAWZ(FM) in Zarephath, N.J., 93.3 WAKW(FM) Cincinnati, and the two stations it acquired in the Denver market last year: Christian AC 101.5 KSRC Watkins, Colo., and the Christian hip-hop 107.1 KFCO Bennett, Colo., “Flo 107.1.”
Pillar Media partnered with AIM, a subsidiary of Xperi, to develop the apps.

Users with Roku and Apple TV can download the Pillar TV apps, which AIM said is the first time they’ve deployed to those platforms. They are also available on Android TV and Fire TV.
Pillar made TV apps a priority after fielding listener inquiries where they asked how to access its stations on their TVs. The company also pointed to a recent survey of its listeners done by Jacobs Media that said 70% of them had access to a Smart TV.

An AIM release said “the demand is growing and points to a new trend for CTV and broadcast, regardless of medium.”
Pillar’s four stations are currently offering their simulcasted audio through the AIM-built apps. The apps also allow users to view a profile of the current on-air host by scanning a QR code.
“We have a vision for expanded content offerings,” AIM said.
