XM Satellite Radio said it intends to launch a 24-hour sports news and talk channel on Aug. 28. Program executives call the channel the next phase in building a sports media brand for the satcaster.
Called the “XM Sports Nation,” the programming lineup will include existing XM-produced series, including shows hosted by Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jimmie Johnson, Cal Ripken, Mike Krzyzewski, James Carville and Luke Russert.
Content from Sporting News Radio, including shows from Tim Brando, Tony Bruno and Troy Aikman, will be included on the new channel. The lineup will also incorporate original XM shows dedicated to collegiate sports, motorsports and fantasy sports.
