XM Satellite Radio says customers love its new traffic/weather channels. In its press release announcing its new Boston channel, it included praise from customers. Ron Coolbaugh, an XM listener in Los Angeles, said: “Beats the regular radio stations hands down.” Anne Novak of Baltimore reported, “The detail is better than anything I could find locally.”
Avis Rent-a-Car, offers the satellite radio service in rental cars nationwide. A spokesman said the traffic and weather channels help travelers “whether or not they are familiar with local radio in the cities they visit.”
The satcaster says it now has 1.6 million subscribers.
