Yes, a Switzerland-based Web developer, recently launched a Web site widget designed to renew audience by promoting listener loyalty and time spent with the station.
The Yes widget, embedded into the Web site of any radio station, offers an interactive experience for listeners, creating a community through chat features and prizes.
“As music technology has evolved over the past decade, radio industry growth has been stagnant, so we sought to create a way for stations to tap into a more social experience for music fans,” said Daniel Goldscheider, Yes chief executive.
“Our radio community platform,” said Goldscheider, “takes radio listening from a passive experience to a way for stations to build relationships with listeners beyond simply airing songs.”
Through the widget, it is possible for listeners to instantly purchase songs from the station playlist directly from iTunes. Listeners who purchase four songs are then eligible to win US$100,000.
