The online news operation of Finnish public-service broadcaster YLE has shifted to an Escenic content management system.

“We evaluated relevant CMS systems on the market, and the conclusion was that Escenic’s offering is the best. … Their focus on gathering all the aspects of an online journalist’s content enriching activities into one very effective and fast workflow is quite unique. Their deep understanding of the online media industry’s needs is evident in their product, their communication and their extensive list of media reference customers. It is a mature, flexible product that we are certain will meet our needs in the ever changing future,” said Reija Hyvärinen, head of programming for YLE24, YLE News, Sports and Regions.

Escenic Content Studio and Escenic Content Engine are used by 600 news media Web sites worldwide.

In June 2008, Escenic was acquired by content management and television graphics company Vizrt. In its television operations, YLE uses Vizrt graphics and media-asset management solutions, and Escenic and Vizrt, working with YLE and TV2.no, plan to introduce products to “bridge Internet and broadcasting production in a new way”, stated Escenic Vice President of Sales and Marketing Tom Skolbekken.
