AEQ Phoenix Lands in Studio

Studio version of portable codec developed

AEQ’s Phoenix Mobile codec has a new studio-based sister, the Phoenix Studio.

The rackmountable, 1RU Phoenix Studio is a dual-channel IP codec with open slots for additional modules such as ISDN or POTS. A USB port allows for connection with USB-based 3G, Wi-Fi and GSM networks. It also will interface with LANs.

It offers X.21 and V.35 interfacing and will network with AEQ’s SIP server. Twin Ethernet ports facilitate multiple network operations. The Phoenix will handle G.711, most any MPEG 1, MPEG 2 or MPEG 4 (AAC-LC, HE-AAC, 24 kHz–48 kHz) codec along with 16–24-bit, 32–48 kHz PCM audio.

The front panel has a keypad, VF display, tricolor LED meters and 1/4-inch headphone jack. The rear panel also offers GPIO, AES D-subs and dual analog XLR inputs and outputs.
