WorldCast Systems’ Silver line has two new boxes that will typically be deployed in pairs: the Stream-In IP Audio Encoder and its mate, the Stream-Out Audio Decoder.
The half-rack boxes handle all popular codecs, e.g. MPEG Layer II, MP3, MP3 Variable Bit Rate, linear, HE-AAC, HE-AAC v2, G.711, G.722, as well as APT’s Enhanced apt-X. They are NACIP-compliant.
The Stream-Out decoder has a USB port for storing fail-over audio along with auto-detection of incoming streams. Configuration of both units can be remotely done via TCP/IP.
APT Sales Director Kevin Campbell said the new encoder and decoder are suitable AoIP platforms for users with limited budgets in particular.
“The Stream-In Silver and Stream-Out Silver are flexible half- rack units that are suitable not just for broadcast STL or confidence-monitoring but a host of other applications such as retail, commercial and hospitality.”
