Bringing a Bench to Your Hand

Kaltman has handheld RF analyzer; it retails for under $5,000

The Kaltman Spectran HF60100 is a handheld RF analyzer with a range of features the company says would more often be found in a bench-based unit, both hardware and software.

Retail price is $4,975.

The HF60100 ships as a kit with an attachable stick antenna (SMA), separate log periodic antenna, AC charger/adaptor, tripod stand, six-foot USB cable and an aluminum carrying case. Included Windows software allows for interface and analysis with a computer.

The analyzer itself has a range of 1 MHz to 9.4 GHz with 130 dBm sensitivity. Bandwidth resolution is 1 kHz. Operation allows for definable hot keys, peak markers, marker points, custom profiles and audio unit conversions.

Mark Kaltman said, “The timing for this analyzer couldn’t be better with the exponential use of wireless technology and the increased challenges of identifying interference and available frequencies.”
