Dolby Laboratories will unveil several broadcast products. Dolby Pro Logic II, its surround technology for HD Radio, will also be highlighted.
The Dolby DP600 Program Optimizer controls automated file-based loudness analysis and correction; it also encodes and decodes Dolby technologies.
Terrestrial, cable and satellite broadcasters will have the ability to normalize the loudness file-based programming and commercials automatically without impacting the original dynamic range, according to the manufacturer. Programs can be normalized by correcting metadata values or scaling the audio signal itself to a target loudness level.
The company says its new Cat No. 561 Dolby Digital Plus OEM Encoder Module is the first Dolby Digital Plus encoder designed for integration into third-party manufacturers’ audio/video products. The module gives broadcasters real-time, multistream, and multichannel encoding for Dolby Digital and Dolby Digital Plus formats.
Dolby will showcase the Dolby Media Producer, a suite of professional audio mastering software used in the creation of DVD and high-definition disc media.
