Marantz has released the latest in its venerable line of PMD portable field recorders.
The battery-operable handheld four-channel PMD561 uses SD/SDHC cards as its medium. It offers a built-in stereo condenser microphone array along with XLR-1/4-inch line inputs for microphones and 48 V phantom power. Additional input is via a 3.5 millimeter jack and there is an RCA output. A USB port allows for file transfers.
Digital recording sample rates are 16-/24-bit at 44.1 kHz, 48 kHz and 96 kHz for WAV and 32–192 kbps for MP3.
An OLED screen provides data.
