NAB Sneak Peek: Sonnet Debuts Storage Peripherals

High-performance flash drive and card readers come to Vegas

Among the high-tech computer peripherals that Sonnet Technologies is bringing to the NAB Show are a 1 TB version of the company’s Fusion Thunderbolt 3 PCIe flash drive and the SF3 Series pro card readers.

The flash drive (pictured) is pocket-sized for portability and features NVMe flash storage technology. NVMe drive controller technology is designed for interfacing with non-rotating drives such as solid-state drives. The bus-powered drive offers 40 Gbps of bandwidth for a transfer speed of up to 2,600 Mbps. The aluminum case is fanless. It is Mac and Windows-compatible via the included Thunderbolt 3 cable.

The SF3 card readers include the CFast2.0 pro media card reader and the SxS pro card reader.

The CFast2.0 is bus-powered with no power adapter required, and can ingest files from two cards at concurrent data transfer speeds up to 1,000 Mbps.

SxS features dual Thunderbolt 3 ports, can support a bus-powered device (such as the CFast 2.0 reader), and can ingest files from two SxS cards at their maximum supported data transfer speeds.
