Pandora is bringing fans and artists closer with its new AMPcast feature, a promotional tool that enables artists to record audio messages on their phones for fans on the music discovery platform. Pandora will offer the new service via its Artist Marketing Platform.
It says AMPcast messages can be used to provide information about concerts or album releases, or provide links to other promotional materials. These messages are sent to fans while they listen to an artist’s music. Pandora says it based this new feature off of its Artist Audio Messages, which debuted last February.
A limited group of artists are now able to utilize the AMPcast tool, with Pandora expected to expand the service to all registered on AMP over the next few months.
