Digital Alert Systems Releases V5.1 Software for DASDEC

Brings new UI and OS to users of older units

Digital Alert Systems is out with a Version 5.1 software update for its DASDEC and One-Net platforms.

“This is the first time the Version 5 software series, with its new UI and upgraded operating system, has been available for older DASDEC-II and One-Net SE units in the field,” it said, describing this version as “a big leap forward” for compatible devices.

Version 5 was previously available only in the DASDEC-III device. The company said V5.1 improves the user experience, increases security and provides Version 5 benefits for compatible older models. “Customers coming from previous versions will be pleased with the visual clarity in this new release,” DAS said.

Yet to come is a 5.2 release that will include new FCC changes required by this December. VP of Business Development said the 5.1 release lays the groundwork for that update, which will be free to Version 5 series customers.

The 5.1 update is free to customers enrolled in the company Software Assurance Plan, or who have purchased a new DASDEC or recently participated in its “Up-Trade” program. Costs for other users vary based on hardware compatibility and the age of their system. See the software update page.

V5.1 requires a DASDEC or One-Net unit with 64-bit processor; units shipped since 2016 have a 32-/64-bit processor, so those owners can install V5.1 using the company’s field upgrade server. Once on V5.1, future in-version upgrades are free.
