A new mobile app is launching this fall that aligns college football and men’s basketball radio broadcasts with live national or regional television broadcasts.

Homestream is a subscription-based app available in both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Duke, Auburn and Georgia Tech are the first schools to have enrolled, according to a release. Fans at those schools can use the app to align live audio commentary with college football broadcasts starting Sept. 5 with their opening week games.

Those school’s men’s college basketball games will also be available on Homestream beginning with the start of the season in November, the release said.

To use the service, a fan points their smartphone screen at the television tuned to the game in progress. The app recognizes the point in the game action and syncs the school’s network radio audio to the video feed.

Homestream secured rights for the three programs through agreements with each university’s respective multimedia rights partner: Learfield for Duke Athletics, Playfly Sports for Auburn Athletics and Legends for Georgia Tech.

A subscription to use the service costs $79.99 for a full season or approximately $3-6 per game, depending on the sport. Full basketball and football season packages are priced at $129.99.

The company said that it successfully tested the technology with fans during the last college basketball season.
