KHYI Deploys NextKast

Texas alternative music station gets new automation

From our Who’s Buying What page: Texas station KHYI(FM) recently deployed NextKast automation.

Program director and morning host Chuck Taylor described KHYI as “one of the last few major-market ‘mom and pop’ radio stations.” It serves the Dallas-Ft. Worth area.

He told NextKast that after three years of supporting remote and voicetrack work during the pandemic with an older software platform, “I made it my mission to find affordable radio automation software that could run the station reliably, while allowing the air staff to do their shows from home if necessary either via remote voicetracking or live.”

The company deployed NextKast in conjunction with opening a new studio in early 2023.
