Radioservers Aids Web Refreshes

Texas and New York stations use the tech for website and metadata

From the Radio World “Who’s Buying What” page: The Mars Hill Network in New York and 88.3 KJRN(FM) in Texas are using technology from Radioservers to streamline their websites and program metadata.

Radioservers’ Unified Music System is behind both of the recent deployments, the company said. The plugin is compatible with most streaming provides and retrieves and caches metadata for display options across websites and applications. 

The system is equipped with a week-long searchable database of past played content and extensions for DJ images, profiles and program content. 

The company works with stations to provide custom website builds and smartphone apps, as well as solutions for data analysis.

The Mars Hill Network is a Religious-formatted group of seven full-power FM stations and 15 translators across New York state. Its flagship is Syracuse’s 102.9 WMHR(FM). Owner Mars Hill Broadcasting sought a website overhaul.

Mars Hill’s website deployment with Radioservers includes a custom program guide, which features the most recent episode of each of its shows, with searchable playlist history and podcast playback.

The network also uses a “pastor for the day” feature, which profiles current, future and past featured pastors. 

Webmaster for The Journey

KJRN, licensed to Keene, Texas with the moniker “88.3 The Journey,” serves Johnson and southern Tarrant counties with Christian Contemporary music. Owned and operated by Southwestern Adventist University, the station has had a longstanding partnership through Radioservers’ webmaster program.

The webmaster program includes website updates, content creation, custom graphics and site redesigns every three years, Radioservers said.  

The Journey’s latest website update is designed for both mobile and desktop devices, with custom feature story sections and song history with album art integration. 

Radioservers was founded in 2004 by industry veteran Bob Thornton.
