TOKYO Alpinehas begun shipping the iLX-107, the first aftermarket in-dash receiver with wireless AppleCarPlay.
The iLX-107, first previewed at CES in January, is an AM/FM receiver with a 7-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen and LED backlighting. CarPlay can be accessed through the touchscreen or through Siri voice control, providing the ability to make and receive calls, access text messages, play music, and receive directions without the need for a Lightning cable.
Other features include three preouts, one aux input and a rearview camera system input. It has a mechless design with a flat faceplate and a 5 7/8-inch mounting depth. When the iLX-107 is used with an iDatalink Maestro module (sold separately), select factory vehicle features can be retained and information like the gauge screen or parking assist screen can be viewed on the 7-inch display, said Alpine.
Its currently available for a $900 suggested retail.
