Bavarian Radio Continues Growing Its DAB+ Network

At the end of March, Bavarian Radio turned on another DAB+ mux transmitter: this time, on channel 11D, covering the city of Ingolstadt and environs

MUNICH�At the end of March, Bavarian Radio turned on another DAB+ mux transmitter: this time, on channel 11D, covering the city of Ingolstadt and environs. �

Reception is now improved so that the following stations (among others) are available indoors:Bayern 1 Niederbayern and Upper Palatinate / Bavaria / Swabia; Bavaria 2 South; Bavaria 3 BR-Klassik; B5 currents; Bavaria plus, Pulse, and BR traffic.

With the Ingolstadt transmitter, BR has increased its coverage of Bavaria (outdoors and in vehicles) to 95.9 percent�of the population. Coverage of roads across Bavaria is at 98.8 percent, and 79.6 percent of the population can receive DAB+ signals at home.�

BR continues to expand its network throughout 2015.� Later this year, 10 additional transmitters are planned, for coverage of the Allg�u region, western Middle Franconia, and in the Upper Palatinate and Upper Bavaria. �
