At NAB Show, Xperi is showing off DTS Connected Radio, an in-car hybrid radio that pairs broadcast with an IP connection. It premiered in February at Connected Car Expo in Los Angeles.
The company describes Connected Radio as aggregating metadata from multiple sources to enable a consistent experience for radio in the car, as well as offering social engagement, like/dislike, advertiser interaction and live presets.
Xperi recently added Service Following, a feature that enables a driver to continue listening to a station as they drive outside of broadcast coverage by switching to streaming.
Connected Radio is compatible with FM, DAB+ and HD Radio.
