Cuba Gets NBA Championship

Courtesy of Radio Martí, Cubans can listen into the NBA championship games

How popular is the NBA in Cuba? Radio Martí is about to find out.

The international broadcaster will be beaming the championship series games between defending champion Miami Heat and the San Antonio Spurs at the island.

This is the second year that the NBA championship series will be available. Hosts will be Victor Fabian Gonzalez and Juan Pendras.

Director of the Office of Cuba Broadcasting Carlos Garcia Perez said, “Getting the up-to-minute news of the NBA is something unique we can offer sports fans on the island.”

The Miami and San Antonio matchup might be a good one for Cuban consumption because both cities have large Latin American populations. Hopefully, Fidel and Raul are NBA fans too and they won’t jam the signals.
