As NextRadio begins its second year, an update to the FM smartphone app will be unveiled at the upcoming Radio Show.
“The first version of NextRadio met the expectations people have about traditional radio,” said Emmis CTO and TagStation SVP Paul Brenner.
Emmis has incorporated input from consumers, handset makers, wireless carriers and the radio industry into the updated app, which Brenner said “will deliver to radio listeners, advertisers and content owners something they could not have imagined — a unique, compelling way to interact with broadcast radio.”
NextRadio is preloaded on some 25 devices by Sprint, Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile. Several of those HTC models support NextRadio on all carriers including Verizon Wireless, AT&T, T-Mobile and regional carriers.
The event is set for 2 p.m. at booth 427 in the exhibit hall.
