Live365 Resurfaces Under Media Creek’s Umbrella

New holding company also acquired EmpireStreaming

Delaware-based holding company Media Creek Inc. has acquired internet radio platform Live365 and audio-centric CDN and services company EmpireStreaming.

Live365 shut down in February 2016, but rumors have since swirled that the platform would be reborn. In August of that same year, the streamer posted a message that offered hope to former users and listeners. Perhaps this news is the end result of their plea.

Media Creek founder and CEO Jon Stephenson will be joined by co-founding partners Rockie Thomas and Sean Lozensky; both formerly worked at AdsWizz, which Live365 previously used for ad insertion technology. Thomas will serve as chief revenue officer, and Lozensky was named chief technology officer.

Jason Stoddard has been tasked with “leading the reboot of Live365” as vice president of broadcasting, according to the release. He will work on “publisher platform development and satisfaction.” Stoddard held positions at earlier iterations of Live365, and he most recently worked at eBay.

Another AdsWizz alum, Dragos Pana, will take on the role of head of demand, which involves “focusing on total publisher yield optimization and managing ad operation services,” according to the announcement.
