Radio station Web stream portal RadioTime announced the addition of a streaming app for the Android smartphone platform.
The app streams approximately 30,000 radio stations available on the Internet using Windows Media streaming technology.
One feature of the Android app uses the phone’s onboard GPS device to determine the location and then recalls a list of local stations.
RadioTime founder and CEO Bill Moore said: “We’re providing Android users with the same enormous selection of stations, making it easy for them to browse and tune to favorite programs and discover all the great content that streaming music services cannot offer.”
Streaming apps using the RadioTime service are available for iPhones, BlackBerrys, Windows Mobile and Palm smartphones.
