iHeartMedia has announced a handful of new appointments in in New York and the northeastern U.S.
The broadcaster has upped Kavi Halemane to executive vice president and general manager of digital programming for iHeartRadio. He is based in New York and reports to iHeartRadio Chief Product Officer Chris Williams.
Halemane previously served as VP of Premiere Digital Media. Prior to that he held the role of executive vice president and head of digital for artist/talent management firm The Collective, as well as the VP of marketing for the YouTube Multi-Channel Network Collective Digital Studio, AKA Studio71 US. He also held a variety of digital, marketing and product management roles at Interscope Geffen A&M Records/Universal Music.
Also, effective July 1, Rob Sanchez has been named the iHeartMedia Boston Region’s vice president of news, talk and sports programming. He will report to iHeartMedia Boston Region VP of Programming Dylan Sprague. In his new role, Sanchez will be responsible for overseeing programming for WBZ(AM), WRKO(AM) and WXKS(AM).
Sanchez began his career in Miami, moving to New York in 1996 as a news production assistant, writer and producer for WINS(AM). Sanchez joined WCBS NewsRadio in 2000, where he held a number of newsroom management roles, including serving as assistant news director. He also worked for several years as a director of news and programming for stations in Washington.
iHeartMedia Boston also announced Bill Flaherty as director of operations for news, talk and sports. He will work closely with Boston Region brands.
iHeartMedia Boston owns and operates WXKS(FM), WJMN(FM), WBWL(FM), WZLX(FM), WKAF(FM), WBZ(AM), WRKO(AM) and WXKS(AM).
Over at iHeartMedia’s Premiere Networks operation Fox Sports Radio also announced changes to its casts.
Joy Taylor will leave “Skip and Shannon: Undisputed” to be the news anchor for “The Herd With Colin Cowherd,” and Jenny Taft will begin a new role as moderator for “Undisputed,” according to an announcement from as made today by FS1Vice President of Studio Production/Executive Producer Whit Albohm.
