Live365 has expanded into Mexico. The streaming provider originally made the announcement at the NAB Show.
The expansion includes access via its website, mobile app and smart speaker platforms. A release from the company said the agreement rounds out its North American offerings.
Live365 said it is licensed through Mexican multimedia producer Somexfon and EMMAC/SACM, the Mexican Music Editors and the Society of Authors and Composers of Mexico, the country’s performance rights organizations. The licensing allows Live365 broadcasters to legally stream in Mexico without needing to secure rights independently.
The company also said it is distributing content via iHeartRadio Mexico through a partnership with Grupo ACIR, a Mexican radio operator. The Live365 Premium package already enables U.S. distribution via iHeartRadio.
Current Live365 broadcasters now have Mexico licensing bundled into their existing broadcast packages at no additional cost. The company said that broadcasters in Mexico can sign up and begin streaming on the platform. Spanish-language translations are available across its website and mobile apps.
Additionally, Live365 has partnered with imaging and programming provider Radio Express, which is aimed at placing more of the country’s terrestrial broadcasters on its streaming platform.
Live365’s tools include built-in licensing coverage, stream hosting, distribution, station management tools and analytics. Originally launched in 1999, the platform shut down in 2016 and was later revived under the ownership of what is now known as SoundStack.
