Bonacci Recognized With E. Noel Luddy Award

He is assistant division chief of engineering in the FCC Media Bureau’s audio division

Rudy Bonacci receives the E. Noel Luddy Award from AFCCE President John Lyons.

At the annual FCC Reception, the Association of Federal Communications Consulting Engineers recognized Rodolfo “Rudy” Bonacci with the E. Noel Luddy Award for years of meritorious service to the telecommunications industry.

Bonacci is assistant division chief of engineering in the FCC Media Bureau’s audio division.

The award was presented Nov. 30 at the National Press Club by AFCCE President John Lyons. FCC Media Bureau Audio Division Deputy Division Chief of Engineering James Bradshaw related anecdotes about Bonacci’s career.

The inaugural award was presented in 2000 by the AFCCE board of directors. Previous Luddy award winners include John Reiser, Jules Cohen, Ann Gallagher and Julius Knapp.

The award is named for World War II veteran, radio enthusiast and former RCA and Dielectric employee E. Noel Luddy. He served on the AFCCE board of directors and was known for his contributions to the association and the broadcast industry. Luddy died in 2013.

Dielectric also funds the E. Noel Luddy Scholarship in his honor.

The AFCCE is a membership organization comprised of engineers and other professionals engaged in telecommunications engineering.
