SBE Seeks Candidates for National Board of Directors

Committee will accept nominations to fill several vacancies

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.The Society of Broadcast Engineers national Board of Directors has several vacancies, all of which the nominating committee is seeking to fill in the upcoming election.

In addition to the open board positions, the committee is looking for candidates who would like to serve as a director, according to SBE Fellow and former SBE Chapter 48 Chair Jim Schoedler, who is also a member of the nominating committee. Note that all elected directors serve in an at-large capacity.

Qualified candidates must be either Regular, Senior or Life members of the SBE, or are the designated representative of an SBE Sustaining Member, also in good standing. All candidates must hold a current SBE engineering-level certification and are required to maintain it through all terms of office.

Any member who wishes to run for a position should contact Nominations Committee Chair RJ Russell.

Any voting member in good standing, by letter to the secretary, not less than 45 days prior to the election in late July, may propose and nominate a candidate. The eligible candidates proposed by 10 or more members shall be entered on the ballot.

The nominations committee begins its work in February and compiles a slate of candidates at the end of April.
