Atkins has been in broadcasting for more than 35 years working for broadcasting companies including Capital Cities, Taft, Keymarket, Sinclair and Entercom. He started as a disc jockey on WUSJ Lockport, NY, while attending college for engineering science. In later years he worked as an on-air personality and chief engineer for the legendary WKBW Buffalo, NY. His broadcast engineering experience includes 50kW AM directional stations, high-power FM stations, studio re-builds, studio consolidation, transmitter site rebuilds, computer software writing, computer maintenance and television engineering. Along with his engineering experience, he is experienced in voice-over production and radio programming.
