All India Radio Conducts DRM Trial

A trial transmission in DRM mode will take place in Bangalore until April 30

All India Radio is currently conducting a trial transmission in DRM mode with multiple programs from SPT Bangalore, says Digital Radio Mondiale. The trial began on April 20 and is scheduled to end on April 30.

The trial is shifting 5:45 to 10:30 p.m. UTC (11:15 p.m. to 4 a.m. IST) on 7550 kHz to the United Kingdom and Western Europe for two programs, GOSIV/HINDI/GOS-V and Vividh Bharati. As a consequence, GOS V Service from 8:45 to 10:30 p.m. UTC (2:15 a.m. to 4 a.m. IST) on 11620 kHz to Australia/New Zealand will be shifted from DRM mode to analog mode.
