Arbitron has partnered with radio manufacturer Etón Corp. to send radios to Haitian earthquake victims.
The companies are donating 1,000 emergency radios. Etón’s solar-powered, crank-operated devices generally feature AM/FM, NOAA weatherband reception and a built-in LED light, among other features.
Arbitron and Etón Corp. executives said radio is vital to keeping Haitians informed and connected during the aftermath of the earthquake.
Etón has its origins as the licensee for Grundig shortwave radios in North America, a partnership that continues.
