Audix has introduced a USB plug-and-play microphone for recording music, podcasting and archiving.
The Audix USB12 promises studio-quality sound at the desktop without software. The low-profile gooseneck mic is suitable for recording voice and acoustic instruments into the computer via USB port. It features a 12 mm modular threaded capsule for accuracy, and supports 44.1 and 48 kHz sample rates for PC and Mac platforms.
Other features of the USB12 include a membrane switch for “steady on” or “momentary on,” a headphone jack for real-time monitoring and a bass roll-off filter to reduce unwanted room noise or boominess. It also includes a 6 foot USB cable.
The Audix USB12 is available in a matte black or white finish for a suggested retail price of $179.
