Big Webcasters See Increased Listening

As Arbitron winds down its Measurecast method of quantifying Internet broadcast listening, it reports that the top five Internet broadcasters had an average audience increase of 32 percent from last June to this February.
Those five are AOL’s Radio@Network, Yahoo!’s LAUNCHcast, Live365, Musicmatch and Virgin Radio. Their combined monthly cume, the number of unique users that listened for five minutes or more during the month, increased to 10.6 million in February.
The company also published Average Quarter-Hour statistics for the first time, and said the average AQH for those Webcasters increased 30 percent.
