BMI Sets New Deadline for Student Broadcast Scholarship

April 1 is the new deadline for BMI Founders Award for Radio Broadcasting Scholarship

The BMI Foundation, the charitable arm of the performance rights and royalties organization, has announced an extension of the deadline for its BMI Founders Award for Radio Broadcasting Scholarship to April 1. 

This is the second run for the scholarship that “Each year, the program recognizes a student with the potential to become an innovator in the rapidly changing field of broadcast radio.”

It is open to broadcasting students nationwide, including aspiring radio newscasters, announcers, sales executives, program directors. Entrants must be current students at accredited U.S. colleges or universities, between the ages of 17 and 24 at the time of entry, and degree candidates in Broadcast Communications or related majors such as Broadcast Journalism, Electronic Media and Broadcasting, Radio and Television Broadcast technology, etc.

The winner can receive up to $5,000 and a trip to the annual Conclave Learning Conference in Minneapolis this summer.
