Border Media Sells Seven in Texas

Great Radio and Sound Communications team up for New York stations

The Border Media Business Trust, overseen by broker W. Laurence Patrick, has offloaded seven radio stations in and around the San Antonio area to Larry Wilson’s L&L Broadcasting. The AM and FM mix range from 100 kW FMs KJXK in San Antonio and KSAH in Pearsall, Texas to 5 kW AM KTSA in San Antonio and 10 kW AM KSAH in Universal City, Texas. Other stations in the deal are KLEY(FM), Jourdanton, Texas, KTFM(FM), Floresville, Texas and KZDC(FM), San Antonio.

In New York, Richard A. Foreman Associates was the broker/receiver for a three-way deal between Great Radio and Sound Communications, purchasers, and Pembroke Pines/Elmira Ltd. The stations involved are WEHH(AM), WELM(AM), WOKN(FM) and WLVY(FM), in Elmira, N.Y.; WOEN(AM) and WMXO(FM), Olean, N.Y.; WGGO(AM) and WQRS(FM), Salamanca, N.Y.; and four FM translators serving Elmira. The buyers already own TV and radio stations in the area.

In North Carolina, Eastern Airwaves continues its accumulation of FM translator properties with the acquisition of a CP for W234BY in the Charlotte, N.C. from Mary Medicus. Bob Heymann of Media Services Group brokered the $165,000 deal.
